Hi There! I’m Tiffany
Get to know me
As a human…
The first time I went to therapy was in my mid 20s, and my guard was up! It took me some time to go through the vulnerable process of seeking help while feeling hopeless and frustrated with myself. As I slowly peeled back my defensive layers, I learned to soothe my harsh inner critic, have more peace with my childhood trauma, and empower my anxious part.
A few personal facts about me I am a millennial Filipina American cisgender woman (she/her). I’ve lived in both rural and urban areas of NorCal, Central Cal, and SoCal (my current home!). I am allergic to the gym, but I enjoy home workouts while watching my favorite shows. I am a mother of plants and a small pup. My favorite books to read are dystopian novels, science fiction, memoirs, philosophy, and poetry.
A quote I love “How do you get through? The grandeur of life is that attempt. It’s not about that solution. It’s about being as fearless as one can, and behaving as beautifully as one can under completely impossible circumstances…” —Toni Morrison on Trauma, Survival, & Finding Meaning.
As a professional…
My therapy approach prioritizes the client-therapist relationship, which research shows to be the most important factor contributing to a client’s success! I use a mind-body therapy approach with sensitivity towards practices that prioritize women and people of color, which include somatic, cognitive behavioral, and psychodynamic based therapies. I believe that each person’s healing journey is unique and that a therapeutic modality or practice is meant to fit the person, not the other way around.
Prior to becoming a therapist, I served my community as a social worker in child welfare where I developed a strong understanding of the effects of child abuse on one’s overall well-being. I also provided care as a clinical therapist for non-profit community mental health where I facilitated therapy to help my clients gain coping skills, navigate difficult family dynamics, and heal from trauma.
